Out of all the people found in the Bible
we can find only a few recorded instances wherein individuals were taken up to heaven or
saw it opened up to them. 2 Yet
none of these instances demonstrate that the person receiving the heavenly vision was
involved in worship and praise as advanced by New Worshippers when the vision transpired.
None of these phenomena indicate that the vision was the result of a weekly
worship exercise in church. As a matter of fact, New Worship gurus have yet to
produce one biblical example where Gods people worshipped their way into the
supernatural world in the mystical manner that they prescribe. In spite of this glaring theological void,
it is common for New Worship enthusiasts to quote Peters words at Pentecost to
support their contention that their worship dogmas are evidence of the move of the Holy
Spirit in the last days. And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.
(Acts Yet there is a difference between the
visions that we read about in Scripture and the New Worship practices that so many are
enamoured with today. What the saints from the Bible experienced when they saw heaven open
up were genuine visions from God. What we see occurring in New Worship today is
visualization, which is a New Age horse of a different color. For even as our modern gurus
encourage worshippers to focus on biblical heavenly images, such as contemplating
Gods throne resting among them, they surround these visualizations with mantras such
as holy, holy, holy as declared by the angels in heaven. All of this is to
invoke a heavenly aroma while encouraging the worshipper to enter into a frame of mind
suitable for entrance into the supernatural. According to the Scriptures, the visions that
the saints of the Bible experienced were that which could be seen. Visualizations on the
other hand are that which are evoked in the imaginations and are not real. Thus
visualization techniques are not Christian but deep seeded in pagan superstition. It is
far more likely, therefore, that New Worships reach into heaven is actually Last
Days apostasy. Who has ascended into heaven, or
descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's
name, if you know? (Prov 30:4 MKJV) According to the text the answer is obviously
God Himself. For God is in heaven, and you on earth. . . (Ecc 5:2b MKJV) It was the will of Satan to ascend to
heaven. For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my
throne above the stars of God. . . (Isa 14:13a MKJV) Therefore behold,
the days are coming, says the Lord, That I will bring judgment on her carved
images, and throughout all her land the wounded shall groan. Though For the wrath of God is revealed
from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in
unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown
it to them. . . Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the
incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man-and birds and four-footed
animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts
of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God
for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed
forever. (Rom 1:18-19, 22-25 MKJV) In spite of these glaring biblical truths,
the mantra today is that everyone must ascend to heaven through modern worship forms that
produce an altered state of mind to receive the fullness of God. Yet this dynamic is
simply a reinstatement of the otherworldly chants as propagated by Pope Gregory and
company during the darkest time of Western History. Just as New Worship gurus are busily
doing today, this ancient church built cathedrals, created images, arranged liturgies and
wrote music with the express intent of creating a heavenly aura that would surround the
congregation with mystery. This context enabled medieval worshippers to visualize and
chant their way into another world. According to New Age advocate R. J.
Stewart the chant tradition established in Gregorys In advancing a musical channel into the
supernatural world Stewart agreed with the position held by Christian New Worship
proponents. In so doing he identified five supposed power centres that can be
found in people where the awakening into the supernatural occurs. Thus he wrote: If
these centres are aroused and interconnected, they enable a through-flow of life energy in
a highly amplified manner, which is traditionally employed to energize the inner faculties
(mind and soul) to unfold into higher orders of consciousness. While in these higher
states, a corresponding spiritual power is realized, which matches and harmonizes with the
life energy of the power centres. The entire operation is known in the Western traditions
as the Arousal of the Inner Fire, and is one of the central and essential practices of
magic, mysticism, religious contemplation and practical metaphysics in all schools of
inner or spiritual development. Indeed, just as in the New Age movement
today, modern Christian New Worshippers view entering into an altered state of mind as the
doorway into the supernatural and illumination. And the affect of this Babylonian
objective in the church today cannot be underestimated. As testified by Jack Hayford:
It is an awakening a stirring across the nations, throughout the larger Body
of Christ and it is altering liturgies, creating new formats of approach to
worship, transforming the musical atmosphere and opening the churchs windows to
fresh air and the sunlight of heaven in our midst. 2. We have Isaiah who was taken to Gods throne and
touched by an angel (Isa 6), Micaiah who saw the Lord sitting on his throne in heaven (I
Kings 22:19), Ezekiel who saw the heavens open up along with visions of God (Ezekiel 1,
8-11), Stephen who saw heaven open up when he was being stoned (Acts 7:55-56) Paul who was
taken up to the Third Heaven (II Cor 12:2) and John in his Revelation where he wrote down
a dramatic and inspiring depiction of worship at the throne. Jacob did see heavens
gate in the form of a ladder with angels ascending and descending on it. (Gen 28:12-17) BACK Stay Tuned for More!!!!
